Situations arise all the time in the daily lives of business owners and individuals. Robert Pearson Law provides general advice and counsel to them on the legal implications and risks of those situations–helping them get ahead of legal issues before they balloon. Leaving issues unaddressed, or addressing them with hasty missteps, can cause stress, inconvenience, and expense down the road. Almost all lawsuits could be avoided, or their harshness mitigated, if the parties had sought counsel earlier. Our general-counseling service can help you stay ahead of things.
The issues we counsel on are limited only by the facts of your life:
- maybe you have a few investment properties that you manage and a tenant has made an unexpected request for an accommodation under the ADA and a request to reduce rent based on unfixed defects affecting habitability, and you don’t quite know what it means or what to do; or
- maybe you suspect your adult sibling is stealing money from a trust of which you’re a beneficiary, and you want to know the legal implications and how to protect yourself; or
- maybe you’re starting a business or side-hustle and need an entity (like an LLC) created for liability protection, and also need a federal tax identification number so you can open bank accounts; or
- maybe your neighbors have been playing loud music at midnight for what seems like two straight weeks, and you need a letter from a lawyer communicating your common law right to quiet enjoyment of your property; or
- maybe it’s 100 degrees in the summer, your AC is broken, your landlord has not responded to requests to fix it, and you need to be advised about your rights and have a letter sent to your landlord; or
- maybe the contractor you hired to redo the bathroom hasn’t performed according to the contract and the quality of the work is subpar, and you need advice on how to navigate the situation, including a demand letter and initial negotiations; or
- maybe you have a boundary dispute that you need evaluated and negotiated without filing a full-blown lawsuit; or
- you’re considering a divorce and want to know what steps to take to protect yourself as you begin that process.
The subscription operates somewhat like the concierge’s medicine model–you become a client of the firm, and we ensure our availability to you, including “same-day” or “current-client” access to a lawyer (us), with a certain amount of “covered counseling” time allotted to you each year. (Of course, terms and conditions apply, which we’ll discuss with you.)
The subscription aims to allow individuals, as well as small- and medium-sized businesses to establish an ongoing relationship with an attorney (Robert Pearson Law) who is readily available to counsel on legal implications of ad hoc issues as they arise in their daily lives and operations, especially the smaller issues, on which hiring an attorney might seem too difficult or impractical. Under our subscription service, you get “same-day” access to a lawyer. So, when an issue came up, because you’d already be an existing-client, you’d just pick up the phone and call, or send us an email, and we’d respond without delay, often the same day.
